Angelique was the taste tester of the icing to make sure that it was good enough to be on the cake! I think that we passed the taste test. She hollered at us the rest of the afternoon to feed her MORE and MORE icing!

Grandma worked hard to get the icing on the cake and started to work on the polk-a-dot border around the bottom of the cake. It took awhile to get the colors just right and get the decorating underway but once we got started there was no stopping the creative flow! After some tracing of the invitation onto the top of the cake the decorating continued. It really was pretty easy to decorate this cake, I was worried that it would be hard and turn out looking funny. Angelique continued to help Mom and Grandma with the decorating by making sure that she was in on the action the whole time, meaning she would NOT let us put her down for a second. After getting the "ONE" on the cake Mommy had to run out the door and go see the doctor! So, Grandma finished up the border on the big cake and started working on cupcakes and the cake that we decorated for Angelique to dig into and make a mess with (which she did not do! She was so good with her cake). After hours of hard work the 2 cakes and numerous cupcakes were decorated and ready for the big party!!

I don't think I could have gotten all of the decorating done if Grandma had not been there to lend a hand by helping ice cakes, babysit while I ran to the doctor and chase the munchkin around while we took turns adding decorations to the cake!

Happy Birthday little Monkey!

February 9th!!! Angelique's first birthday. Celebrated on Saturday the 10th just so that we could be sure to have all our family and friends with us to celebrate the big day. Angelique had so many people at her party, it was a great time. That is after she decided to wake up from a little snooze on Grandpa's shoulder . Once we had her up and moving again she was ready to sing happy birthday and eat her very own cake. Mom and Dad were expecting a huge mess after the excitement Angelique showed the day before eating the icing that was being used to decorate her special cake .... Pictures of that special cake to come once Grandma and Grandpa send us the pictures from their camera, also there are pictures of the cake in the process of being created! We had a really good time decorating the cake... After eating a little bit of cake the munchkin was ready to get down and start opening her presents! Amazing enough there was not a huge mess to clean up! What a dainty little one we seem to have so far!

First the task at hand was to wash that little face off, not an easy task when it comes to Angelique (I think this is the worst part of eating for her). After that ordeak we were ready to see what kind of great presents she was getting for her first birthday.

Angelique had a great time opening all of her wonderful gifts that she recieved. The toys were a big hit for her and the CLOTHES her Mom and Dad appreciated very much! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE FOR ALL OF THE WONDERFUL GIFTS THAT YOU GAVE TO ANGELIQUE FOR HER FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Celebrating Great Grandma's 80th Birthday!

Great Grandma Major agreed that celebrating her 80th Birthday a week early would be OK so that we can celebrate Angelique's birthday the next weekend. Great Grandma will turn 80 on February 10th, the day after Angelique's 1st birthday. Angelique loves to hang out with her Great Grandma.

Celebrating Birthdays is always so much fun! It was so nice to have all of the family together to celebrate what a wonderful woman Great Grandma, Grandma and Mom (the woman of many names a talents!) truly is. We all LOVE her very much!

Great Grandma got to have 2 cakes at her party! Lucky lady! And she even shared some of that Boston Creme Pie that Ken made with Angelique. Her first real taste and she really seemed to like it! But hey what kid doesn't love sweets right! Great Grandma was just helping Angelique get practiced up to dig into her own cake this coming weekend!

New Years Resolutions!

As you can see Angelique is a great stair climber! Our New Years Resolution is to REMEBER TO PUT UP THE BABY GATE!!! Angeliue just loves to climb up the stairs and have us chasing behind her!
